Concept Illustrated: Tracks created during different gaits; compare the formation and final form (while fresh).
The idea: The gait an animal uses expresses something of its intents and state of mind, this makes gait a useful tool when interpreting tracks and trails. There are at least two ways gait can be read. The easiest is from the pattern of a series of tracks. But what gait information do individual tracks carry? How much about a gait can gait be read from a single track?
This is the initial effort to develop illustrations exploring this concept.
